Terry Hooligan – See The Signs Ft. Ruthless & Genesis Elijah
As you may or may not know, Terry is 50% of the legendary Atomic Hooligan. He also owns and runs three record labels (Menu Music with Jay Cunning, Bass=Win with Rico Tubbs & Bass + Bars) Terry has toured the world spreading his eclectic sound through his reputed, high energy DJ sets. Whilst on these world tours, Terry has discovered and pioneered many international acts (Rico Tubbs & Lady Waks to name a couple). It was upon his return to his home town of Watford though, that he made his latest discovery at long-time collaborator, Genesis Elijah’s video shoot. Watford rapper Ruthless met Terry at an abandoned post office 2 years ago while the video was being filmed. The pair instantly hit it off & Terry extended an invite to record a couple of weeks later. The fruit of this was “See The Signs”. The next step was to invite mutual friend Genesis to also perform on the track, providing the instantly catchy hook.
Ruthless maybe a new name to the electronic crowd, but he is an underground sensation in the UK Hip Hop scene. He has many videos clips, freestyles, singles and mixtape already under his belt, with his debut artist album set for release in early 2013.
If we are talking about UK Hip Hop though, superstars don’t come much bigger (literally) or more prolific than Genesis Elijah. He has worked with everyone in the hip hop scene and is one of the most respected artists around. If you are an Atomic Hooligan fan, you will remember him from their second album “Sex, Drugs and Blah Blah Blah” on the track “Spread Good Vibes”
For this single, Terry Has gone back to his Breakbeat & Hip Hop roots, with a cheeky nod to an 80’s classic. Far from being “TAINTED” by this homage, “See The Signs” is a fresh take on Hip Hop & Breaks and manages to walk a credible line between the two. The track has already gained massive support from the likes of The Freestylers, Krafty Kutz, DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill) Utah Saints, Stanton Warriors, Kid Kenobi, Future Prophecies, Dub Pistols & Jay Cunning.
See The Signs has already got radio support & plays from BBC Asian Network.
Also in the package is the outstanding Ben & Lex remix. Think Lil’ Waynes “A Milli” mixed with DJ Fresh and you will get some kind of idea what the vibe is… Heavy 808 kicks and Aman provide an alternative background to Terry’s synths & Ruthless & Genesis Vocals. This one is Dancefloor gold.
